Chiredzi Town Council says they are ready to implement ease of doing business initiatives to attract possible investors in line with government’s call on open for business.
Following government’s call that local authorities must brand themselves to attract possible investors through adhering to proper local authority laws and urban planning, Chiredzi Town Council said they have already started implementing ease of doing business initiatives through relaxing processes of acquiring operating licences.
Speaking to the ZBC News, Chiredzi town Secretary Mr Charles Muchatukwa said they are going to take advantage of the land that was recently located to them by the government for town expansion.
“You would find that it is now easy to get a licence to do an operation in Chiredzi and before we didn’t have enough land for industrial development, now we are able to invite investors in enerst for industrial and commercial space,” he said.
Chiredzi is one of the fastest growing towns in the country with a lot of development prospects in the tourism and agriculture sector and is the commercial hub of the country’s sugar production.
